The North St. Paul
History Cruze started on a Friday night in 1996 with about 25 cars near
the intersection of 7th Avenue and Margaret Street. It has grown and
now draws 700 to 1,800 cars each week that park along a half-mile stretch
of 7th Avenue and fill many adjacent parking lots. The street is closed
to other traffic for the night and a fair like atmosphere prevails with
street vendors, music, and food.
The North
St. Paul History Cruzers organized as a non-profit group of 25 - 30
volunteers in 1999 to work at keeping this event successful. They solicit
donations from area businesses and other sponsors to help pay for the
mandatory insurance, security, trash removal, portable toilet rental,
and other expenses.
The History
Cruzers appreciate the assistance of other car clubs and individuals
who help man the gates each week. Donations of money and/or volunteer
time are gratefully accepted to help keep the show going.
